The Visual Arts Center is a non-profit organization funded through yearly membership fees, class and workshop fees, gift shop proceeds, exhibit sales fees, special fund raising events, the Century Club, the Endowment Trust and the generous contributions of the membership. Each of these funding sources are required to meet our annual budget for the upkeep of the building and grounds, maintenance and housekeeping, utilities, insurance, accounting and administrative support. The staff necessary to setup and co-ordinate exhibits, run the gift shop, act as hostesses, run the library, etc. are all volunteers from the membership. The funding sources combined with the support of the volunteers have allowed the Visual Arts Center to run on a responsible financial basis. 

Endowment Trust

The Charlotte County Art Guild bylaws established an Endowment Trust. The purpose of the Trust is to receive charitable bequests and devices (ie. stocks, property) as assets, to manage those assets, and to distribute the proceeds of their management to the Guild in order to support the Guild in promoting the advancement of and appreciation for the visual arts in Charlotte County. 

The goal of the Endowment Trust is to establish a perpetual asset base, the income from which will be used to further the goals of the Guild. Assets received by the Trust from donors for specific activities defined by the donor shall be employed as desired by the donor to the extent possible. 

The Endowment Trust is managed by an independent board of directors. If you wish to make a contribution to the Endowment Trust, contact David Shumaker, the present Chairman of the Board for the Endowment Trust. 

The Visual Arts Center Century Club

The Century Club was established in 1992. It's mission is to collect monies to support the Center's operating costs.  The Club accepts donations from VAC members and non-members. An original donation of $100 establishes a Donor name plate on the Century Club plaque. That recognition is perpetual.  Subsequent donations earn the donor an extra star for every $100 donated. All donations are recognized in writing and are tax deductible.
