On Thursday morning of each week from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon a group of dedicated portrait artists get together in one of the rooms of the Visual Arts Center to create a portrait from a live model. The artist complete their portraits in the media of their choice--pastel, oil, pencil, water color...
The studio is conducted in several 20 minute sessions with 10 minute breaks between each segment. Artist of all levels are welcome to participate so long as they are members of the Charlotte County Art Guild. A nominal $5 fee is collected to pay for the model.
The life drawing studio is held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Goff gallery of the Visual Arts Center. This studio provides an opportunity to draw or paint a live nude model in several short 1 minute poses followed by several 20 minute sessions with intervening 10 minute breaks.
Artists of all levels of proficiency are invited to participate so long as they are members of the Guild. A nominal fee of $10 is charged to cover the cost of the model.
The VAC has a complete darkroom available for use by members. To reserve time in the darkroom see the VAC reception desk. A small charge is applicable for each 3 hour segment.
